The story of faith in Katkur and of the society formed to care for the temple.
A temple at the heart of the village
For the people of Katkur, Sri Shivanjaneya Devalayam has long been a gathering point for prayer and festivals. The shrine brings together the worship of Lord Shiva and Lord Anjaneya, two deities deeply loved across Telangana.
Forming the society (2025)
To care for the temple in an organised and transparent way, the villagers formed the Sri Shivanjaneya Temple Society. It was registered on 21 May 2025 under the Telangana Societies Registration Act, 2001 (Registration No. 418 of 2025), with the Registrar of Societies, Medak at Patancheru.
The society is run by a seven-member committee of volunteers from the village and works strictly as a non-profit body, with all funds used only for the temple and the community.
Looking ahead
With the society in place, the community now hopes to improve the temple, conduct festivals with greater devotion, and take up charitable work in education, health and the environment.
